A shaped opening to the edge of the lid was designed to accommodate a mustard spoon while the pot remained closed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIts compact Georgian-inspired form is typical of English table silver of the period, with the curved feet and subtly shaped edge giving an otherwise practical table accessory considerable character.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe underside is clearly stamped \u003cstrong\u003eREGIS PLATE REG., E.P.N.S. A1, MADE IN ENGLAND, N220\u003c\/strong\u003e, identifying the maker, silver-plated construction and model number.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOriginally intended for serving mustard or other condiments at the table.
