Our Authentication Process.

At Re:Velvet, every item accepted in store is carefully authenticated and curated through a rigorous review process led by its co-founders. Valerie brings many years of experience within the luxury industry, including positions with Ralph Lauren, Saint Laurent and Le Temple, a multi-brand luxury retailer where she worked closely with leading maisons, developed a strong understanding of brand craftsmanship and standards, and gained valuable exposure through regular visits to manufacturers. This experience gave her an in-depth appreciation of provenance, quality, construction and the subtle details that distinguish authentic luxury goods. Gosia complements this with her degree from the London College of Fashion, her specialist knowledge of leather and fabrics, and her experience as co-founder of the leather brand Etui London. Together, they examine each piece with great care and attention to detail, assessing construction, materials, finishing, labels, hardware and overall consistency with the brand’s heritage and standards. Where appropriate, Re:Velvet also draws on trusted external specialists from its wider network within the fashion and luxury industry, ensuring that every item is subject to thorough scrutiny before being offered for sale.

Upcycling Services Through Our "Upstyling" Atelier

Re:Velvet also wants to be a celebration of creativity and conscious living. With our mix of stylish brands and timeless vintage finds, combined with bespoke customization services, we invite you to explore a world where elegance is sustainable, and every item tells a story of renewal.

At the heart of our philosophy is our Upstyling Atelier, where we transform not only our pre-loved garments but also yours into bespoke, one-of-a-kind pieces. Whether it’s a cherished vintage item or an everyday staple, our experts blend couture-inspired craftsmanship with a modern edge, tailoring every creation to your unique taste. Bring us your unworn or outdated items, and we’ll help you refresh your wardrobe with personalized, upcycled designs that stand out. We get inspired by Haute couture but adapt it to your own lifestyle.

We encourage you to shop differently—choosing to revive and reimagine rather than rely on fast fashion that harms the planet. Together, we can breathe new life into old favorites and reduce waste, proving that sustainability and style go hand in hand.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Gosia Bartkowiak is the founder of Etui London, a brand celebrated for its innovative use of reclaimed leather. Etui London used to have concessions at John Lewis, Top Shop and Debenhams now closed. Etui London’s collections provided an upcycling solution for premium leather goods, transforming surplus materials into stunning, functional designs. This approach not only reduces waste but also sets a new standard for the rationalization of less waste optics in luxury fashion—an essential contribution to the future of sustainable design.

Valerie Eldenmalm has held leadership positions with some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Yves Saint Laurent Paris, Ralph Lauren, and Levi Strauss. She is also the founder of Maison Dôme, a company specializing in eco-friendly lifestyle solutions that seamlessly blend elegance with sustainability. Valerie’s extensive expertise in global fashion and her dedication to sustainable living provide a unique perspective on creating meaningful, high-quality designs.

Together, we are driven by a shared mission: to transform second-hand and reworked garments and lifestyle products into extraordinary pieces that celebrate both creativity and sustainability. By combining Valerie’s leadership experience and eco-conscious ethos with Gosia’s craftsmanship and commitment to upcycling, we’re able to reimagine the potential of every item, whether it’s reworked, repurposed, or showcased in its original beauty.

Let’s connect, collaborate, and create a more sustainable future together!
