Based on the marks on the bottom, Associated with "Stourbridge", a town in England known for its glassmaking and decorative arts, the jug is from the Dudson Pottery company, renowned for their "Patent Mosaic" stoneware during the mid-19th century. Established in 1800 in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Dudson specialized in high-quality stoneware and is particularly noted for their innovative "Patent Mosaic" designs which technique involved intricate inlays and patterns, often featuring unique handle designs such as the entwined snakes here, or branch-like forms. These pieces are highly collectible today due to their distinctive craftsmanship and historical significance.
