A distinctive vintage Timney Fowler London wool shawl, featuring the British design house's signature neo-classical engraving style in black and ivory.

The oversized square design is printed with an elaborate composition of classical figures, architectural borders and finely rendered engraved details, creating the dramatic monochrome aesthetic for which Timney Fowler became known during the 1980s. Established in London by designers Sue Timney and Grahame Fowler, the studio built an international reputation for its striking reworking of Greco-Roman, historical and architectural imagery.

Finished with a soft fringed edge, this substantial scarf can be worn loosely around the shoulders as a shawl, folded as an oversized scarf, or styled over a coat as a graphic statement accessory. Its neutral black, ivory and cream palette makes the highly detailed print surprisingly versatile.

A collectible example of British 1980s textile and fashion design, particularly appealing to collectors of Timney Fowler, monochrome fashion, neo-classical prints and distinctive vintage London design.

Pre-owned vintage condition with signs of previous wear consistent with age. The lightweight fabric shows general creasing and some unevenness in the colour and print. There appear to be occasional small marks and minor irregularities along the edges, while the red border shows light wear. Some very visible discolouration, maybe due to water splashes exposure to sun, are visible especially on the side.

Please examine the detailed photographs carefully for the overall condition of the fabric, print and hand-finished edges.
