This is an early Yves Saint Laurent Mombasa shoulder bag, introduced under Tom Ford’s creative direction around 2002–2003. A standout piece from the early days of the Mombasa line, this version exemplifies the raw-luxury aesthetic that redefined YSL accessories at the time. The bag’s crescent-shaped body is composed of layered Saint Tropez black leather strips, creating a textured, almost sculptural surface that moves fluidly with the body. Most striking is the handle, made from polished antlers—a bold, organic contrast to the refined leather. Held in place by metal hardware and finished with a discreet interior logo tag, this Mombasa iteration captures the edgy, untamed glamour that came to define the brand’s early 2000s identity.
