This vintage Hermès “Siam” 90 cm silk chiffon scarf is a beautifully detailed homage to Thailand’s former name and rich decorative arts. Signed by the artist Rybal, the carré layers temple guardians, celestial dancers and lotus-inspired motifs in soft greens, blues and creams, forming a striking mandala at the centre with SIAM and Hermès Paris worked into the design.

Cut in lightweight silk chiffon (mousseline) rather than classic twill, this version has an ethereal drape and is less commonly seen, making it especially interesting to Hermès collectors who love travel and Asia-inspired prints. 

The scarf is in good vintage condition with visible marks: some yellowish discolouration on the green ground and a few darker spotting areas (all photographed and reflected in the price). Still beautiful when tied, it’s ideal for someone who wants to wear and enjoy a more unusual Hermès design rather than keep it pristine in a drawer.
