A sculptural vintage porcelain vase from Rosenthal’s celebrated studio-line, featuring the softly marbled blue-and-white finish known as Queensberry Marble.

Designed by Rosemonde Nairac, the vase has a distinctive flattened, cushion-like form with gently pointed ends and an elongated oval opening. Its glossy white porcelain is swept with pale blue and grey veining, creating the appearance of translucent marble or drifting watercolour.

The curved, asymmetrical silhouette allows the vase to appear different from every angle. It works beautifully as a standalone design object, but its narrow opening can also hold a small, carefully arranged selection of stems.

Rosenthal launched studio-line in 1961 as a platform for collaborations with influential artists and designers, making pieces such as this particularly appealing to collectors of post-war German porcelain and twentieth-century design.

Very good - even excellent - vintage condition.

The glazed exterior appears glossy and well preserved, with no obvious cracks, chips or repairs visible in the photographs.

There are light age-related marks, rubbing and discolouration around the underside and foot rim, consistent with previous display and handling. No Fine surface marks present visible.
