A classic 90cm silk carré featuring “Les Roues de Canon”, an archival-style design celebrating craftsmanship, ceremony and the decorative beauty of historical artillery wheels. The composition is richly illustrated with ornate cannon wheels and gilded scrollwork, framed by an elegant border that gives the piece structure and presence whether displayed flat or styled. The detailing is intricate and finely shaded, with a palette that reads luxurious and timeless—cool, light-toned ground, deep border, and luminous gold accents that catch the light beautifully.

This highly coveted - due to its scarcity in this  colour scheme-  design is attributed to Caty Latham and dates to 1967 as an original motif, placing it firmly in the golden era of collectible Hermès carré artwork, when storytelling prints and meticulous illustration were central to the house’s identity. Hermès, the Parisian maison founded in 1837, is renowned for silk of exceptional handle and print quality; this scarf delivers that signature lustre and fluid drape, finished with a refined rolled edge.

Marks and light staining are visible in the close-up photographs and have been reflected in the price.

Good condition yet, a Vintage, pre-loved item that has been worn and kept in precarious environment. 

Silk remains soft with good structure and colour saturation but several light yellowish stains (shown in photos) and a few tiny marks within the design – noticeable on close inspection, but easy to hide when folded or tied

No major pulls or runs observed 

 

Priced to reflect its gently loved condition.
