A striking pair of vintage oversized clip-on earrings featuring deep aubergine-purple glass cabochons held within sculptural openwork metal surrounds.

Each circular centre is framed by an expressive cage-like border of hand-formed loops and crescent shapes, creating a sunburst or floral silhouette with a distinctly artisan, almost brutalist character. The contrast between the dark, richly coloured glass and aged gold/brass-tone metal gives them a dramatic, highly individual look.

At approximately 5 cm in diameter, these are substantial statement earrings with real visual presence. The backs feature decorative textured metal plates and secure clip fittings.

Their construction and sculptural language suggest a late 20th-century artisan or studio-jewellery piece, likely circa 1970s–1980s.
