A refined Pleats Please Issey Miyake pleated dress in a rich plum-purple tone, made in Japan and cut in the label’s signature permanently pleated polyester.

The dress has a long, straight column silhouette with long sleeves and a V-neckline, creating a clean, elongated line while retaining the fluid movement and stretch associated with Pleats Please. The dense vertical pleating allows the fabric to expand comfortably on the body while returning to its sculptural form when unworn.

Made from 100% polyester, the piece is lightweight, packable and easy to wear, with the engineered pleating doing most of the visual work. The saturated purple gives the minimalist shape a strong colour presence without compromising its simplicity.

Pleats Please sizing is based primarily on height rather than conventional UK sizing; the brand’s current size guide places size 3 around 161–165 cm height, although the stretch and straight cut allow considerable flexibility in fit.

A strong wardrobe and collector piece for admirers of Issey Miyake, Japanese fashion, engineered pleating, minimalist design and sculptural clothing.

Very good pre-owned condition with light signs of wear consistent with age. The pleating remains well defined and the fabric retains strong colour and stretch. 

 

The photos show minor surface variation that are  the result of the fabric catching the light.
