This Hermès “Musée” silk scarf (90 cm carré) is a pristine vintage piece designed by the legendary Hermès artist Philippe Ledoux, first issued in the early 1960s.

Set against a fresh pale blue border and crisp white ground, the design is a rich “cabinet of curiosities” inspired by Émile Hermès’ personal collection of maritime and travel antiques, the scarf  constitutes a visual voyage through the objects that shaped the Hermès universe.

As a house founded in 1837 as a harness and saddle-maker, Hermès has always celebrated craftsmanship, travel and the art of motion. “Musée” brings those themes together: maritime navigation, equestrian leatherwork and historical objets d’art, all meticulously drawn in Ledoux’s signature, museum-quality detail.

In pristine condition, with crisp silk twill and plump hand-rolled edges, this 90 cm Hermès carré is perfect worn as a statement accessory, styled on a bag, or framed as art – a true collector’s scarf for lovers of vintage Hermès, nautical motifs and French luxury heritage.

Used, but a true 1960s vintage (Proof is the hand rolled border called “palpé roulé” that is thinner than the contamporary ones)  that feels almost new. No sign of wear and still shows the very distinctive crisp silk texture it presents when new.
