An unusual antique cream pitcher by Royal Bayreuth, crafted in Bavaria and distinguished by its wonderfully sculptural, almost architectural form. The porcelain body rises from a broad squared base into a dramatically flared neck with an integrated angular handle and softly curved pouring rim. It is No 22 of its series. 

The decoration is particularly appealing: a dreamy landscape rendered in softly graduated shades of moss green, yellow, blush pink, pale blue and cream, creating an atmospheric watercolour effect characteristic of Royal Bayreuth's decorative porcelain of the early 20th century.

Its combination of highly stylised shape and delicate landscape decoration gives the piece a surprisingly modern quality, making it equally attractive as a collectible piece of antique Bavarian porcelain or as a small decorative vessel.

100% Silver Plated Pewter

 

Approx. L: 8 cm H: 5.5 cm W: 4.8

 

Fair to good vintage condition, with visible age-related surface wear, tarnishing, scratching and areas of wear to the silver plating. Some spotting/pitting is visible to the interior. The hinge, handle, feet and lid are intact. The original removable cobalt-blue glass liner and condiment spoon are not present.
