A bold pair of vintage Monet clip-on earrings, most likely dating from the 1980s.

Each earring features a flat vivid red centre framed by a substantial gold-tone surround with a sculptural rope-like border. The red surface appears to be a coated or lacquered finish, giving the earrings a strong graphic quality typical of statement costume jewellery from the period.

The backs have a finely textured finish and substantial hinged clip fittings, both signed © Monet.

A particularly wearable example of vintage Monet: striking enough as a statement piece but simple enough to work with tailoring, eveningwear or a black dress.

Very good vintage condition. The red centres remain bright and glossy, with only very minor surface marks visible under close inspection. The gold-tone finish is well preserved overall, with light age-related wear and small marks consistent with previous use. The clip mechanisms appear complete and functional, and the Monet signatures remain clearly legible.

Avoid soaking or abrasive cleaning, as moisture could affect the internal fixings or aged metal finish.
