A substantial vintage 950 silver chain necklace with an intricately woven, Byzantine-style link construction and a beautifully weighty, tactile feel.

The necklace is formed from multiple interlocking silver links, creating a dense rope-like chain with depth and movement. Decorative wrapped silver collars are spaced around the necklace, breaking up the woven structure and adding a distinctive artisan finish.

It closes with a large sculptural hook clasp, itself stamped 950, confirming a high silver fineness of 95%. The clasp and end caps are integral to the design rather than simply functional, giving the necklace a cohesive handcrafted appearance.

The combination of heavy silver, intricate chain work and visible hand-finishing gives the piece a strong late 20th-century artisan jewellery aesthetic, a silver jewellery made in Latin America. 

Designed to sit relatively close to the neckline, this is a bold yet highly wearable piece that works particularly well as a standalone statement necklace.

Good vintage condition with visible patina, light tarnishing and surface wear throughout, consistent with age and use. The woven links remain articulated and the decorative collars appear secure. The hook clasp is intact and functional. Natural darkening remains within the recessed areas of the chain, enhancing the dimensional construction.
