This vintage cocktail ring centred with a large oval turquoise-coloured cabochon is framed by an ornate openwork setting in warm gold-tone metal.

The domed stone is encircled by an irregular pattern of pierced loops and scrolling forms, giving the ring a handcrafted, almost archaeological character. An open split shank allows the ring size to be adjusted, while the elevated setting gives it a strong sculptural presence when worn.

With its vivid blue colour, elaborate cage-like surround and bohemian styling, this is an expressive statement ring that pairs particularly well with gold jewellery, summer linens and richly coloured fabrics.

Unsigned. Probably dating from the 1970s to 1980s, although it could be a slightly later artisan or import piece inspired by that period.

Adjustable

Good vintage condition, with light surface wear and minor variation to the gold-tone finish consistent with age and previous use. The cabochon displays visible veining or surface lines, which may be inherent to the composite material rather than damage. The adjustable band has some natural irregularity from use.
